Oxygen Supplemental
The E.M.P. Canada Oxygen Supplemental is available and approved.
Our O2 supplemental program deals specifically with the knowledge and skills needed to administer emergency oxygen to a patient . The program will give the student the core knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to provide the best possible emergency care using oxygen, until professional medical care is available. The knowledge and skill needed to provide oxygen, coupled with that of a first aid training program, enables the students to be fully versed in many aspects of emergency care provision necessary in the modern workplace and industrial settings. Most serious emergencies result in shock Shock, or the lack of oxygen to the body, amy result in death if not treated properly and promptly. Oxygen is beneficial to the treatment of shock and essential in administering emergency first aid.
The oxygen supplemental program is designed to train the student to:
- Recognize emergency situations where oxygen will be beneficial
- Provide emergency oxygen to both breathing and non breathing patients
- Understand the very specific hazards that are associated with the use and delivery of emergency oxygen
- Practice safe handling techniques when using emergency oxygen.
