I believe we are all finding time is moving so fast and so much is happening that it almost gets overwhelming. Here we are with the first quarter of 2004 behind us and in truth, it has been the most exciting and progressive period that we have ever experienced since the formation of EMP Canada. If we name just a few of the new products and services that are now available, we would have to include:

  • Version 5 Basic First Aid and CPR system of training
  • Training Centre Liability, Errors & Omissions insurance
  • Instructor Errors & Omissions insurance
  • Occupational First Aid Attendant Errors & Omissions insurance
  • New and improved national Student and Instructor Registry
  • Upgraded with a new look to our national website www.firstaidtraining.com
  • 76-Hour Advanced Workplace Level Three Supplement Occupational First Aid training system
  • Preparations well underway to extend our training into the professional field of emergency medical responders

These new opportunities are designed to enable our Training Centres to take full advantage of the skills and training systems that they have at their disposal. As an example, Version 5 training materials have been designed to comply with Guidelines 2000 for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care International Consensus on Science Standards. In addition, as mentioned previously in our CEO Reports, Version 5 has been approved by Health Canada, Labour Canada and each of the provincial WCB / WSIB / OH&S offices across Canada. Even our Occupational First Aid Level One is based on the Version 5 system.

All of our new videos are built on the Version 5 principle allowing/enabling them to connect with the base program similar to Lego blocks being connected together. It's a sequential system that takes into consideration the previous learning and accrued skills enabling the student to continue to ascend steps of continuing education. An example of this would be the following:

  • Bloodborne Pathogens stand-alone video Version 5 connects to Version 5 VHS base program of CPR and first aid which connects to Version 5 Automated External Defibrillator training system which connects to the Version 5 Oxygen Supplement training system.

By bringing all of the foregoing skills and learning together and having the students enter into the BLS Pro program, they continue their learning curve. the BLS Pro brings all of their previously learned skills into a team approach to CPR and first aid response. With this in mind, we are now producing another 21 supplementary VHS video programs.
