Medic First Aid Training76 Hour Advanced Workplace : Emergency Medical Responder : Competencies British Columbia
Medic First Aid 76 Hour Advanced Workplace This intensive and highly hands on 76 hour advanced training program provides pre-hospital emergency care oriented to individuals who work in remote locations supporting operations in oil and gas exploration, delivery and processing, logging and mining operations. Subject knowledge includes theory and skills for Basic Life Support, Patient Packaging and Transportation, Multiple Patient Triage, Supplement Oxygen, AED and First Aid Room Care and Administration. This program is recognized in Canada from coast to coast and is an EMP program. Prerequisite - Current completion of the one day BC Workplace Level I course or higher & proof of physical fitness from family doctor required 1st day of class. Medic First Aid Alberta This course will prepare you to assess the extent of injuries or illness in emergency situations and determine medical treatment. you will be able to administer pre-hospital emergency care including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), oxygen, bandaging and splinting as well as to provide treatment for trauma patients and assistance in childbirth. Other skills taught include blood pressure cuffs, spider straps, head blocks, chest auscultation, operation of ambulance stretchers, oximetry testing, and pharmacology and communication systems. Successful completion of the EMR course enables the holder to make application to write the Alberta College of Paramedics EMR Exam. Prerequisite - Successful completion of the Medic First Aid 76 Hour Advanced Workplace Level III Supplement Course.
Successful completion of this four day course enables the holder to make application to write the EMR Licensing Board's exam in British Columbia. Prerequisite - Successful completion of the Medic First Aid 76 Hour Advanced Workplace Level III Supplement course & the Medic First Aid Alberta Emergency Medical Responder course.
